This is a short post today on an awesome posterior chain strength builder. Nordic Hamstring Curls are a great exercise for working all 3 muscles of the Hamstrings(The Semitendinosus, Semimembranosus and the Biceps Femoris). However this is an extremely difficult exercise for two reasons, first of all its just flat out extremely hard to do and secondly typically its done with two people(one person firmly holding the ankles of the person performing the exericse). The Band Assisted Nordic Hamstring Curl addresses both issues. In terms of difficulty this is still an extremely difficult exercise, however the Band allows for greater eccentric control and removes some of the pressure on the knees. Then secondly both the Barbell anchoring the ankles and the band stabilizing and supporting the body helps replace the partner requirement.
